Buddha Jewel

Our five-year journey with Buddha Jewel began as a simple ventilation project, but soon evolved into a complex 97,000 square feet site redevelopment. Coordination and communication on this project were critical as the client is based in Taiwan and the architect is located in California. We listened closely and got to know our client’s specific needs and goals before they could entrust us to overhaul and transform the existing 1950’s church space into an environment suitable for meditation and the study of Buddhism. Renovations include installing a storm water detention vault 20’ underground, raising the roof, completing a MEPF retrofit, complying to ADA upgrades, and adding new features (elevator, bathrooms, meditation rooms, commercial kitchen, and meeting hall). We also worked with the City of Shoreline to improve sidewalks and streets surrounding the site.
